The Freedom Formula
Financial freedom isn't magic, it's a formula.
Move the levers below and watch how soon you reach each of your freedom numbers.
How much you invest. Widen your gap.
What you invest in. Stack solid investments.
Fees, taxes, and lifestyle creep. Make it easier for yourself.
Cash-flow assets (real estate, private debt) pay more income, so you hit your number with a smaller pile, sooner.
See the compounding math
See the real compound growth under the hood. To live on a monthly cash flow amount, your portfolio must grow large enough to generate enough cash flow for you:
Portfolio needed = monthly × 12 ÷ draw · FV = P(1+i)n + PMT · [((1+i)n − 1) ÷ i]
Net return = 8% returns − 1% friction = 7% · draw rate = 4% (Growth)
- 🏕 Secure: $5,000 × 12 ÷ 4% = $1,500,000. Growing $50,000 + $3,000/mo at 7% → reached in 19 years.
- 🥾 Independent: $8,000 × 12 ÷ 4% = $2,400,000. Growing $50,000 + $3,000/mo at 7% → reached in 24 years.
- 🏔 Free: $15,000 × 12 ÷ 4% = $4,500,000. Growing $50,000 + $3,000/mo at 7% → reached in 32 years.
